Unlock your child’s musical potential at Richmond House School

At Richmond House School, we believe that music has the power to transform lives and ignite creativity. That is why we are thrilled to introduce our new Music Scholarship, specially designed for budding musicians in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2.

The power of music in early education

We understand the importance of fostering a love for music in young learners. Research shows that exposure to music from an early age can enhance cognitive development, improve language skills, and promote emotional well-being. By immersing children in a rich musical environment, we aim to ignite their passion for music, instil a lifelong appreciation for the arts, and provide them with a foundation for future success.

A dynamic and inclusive music curriculum

Our vibrant music curriculum provides children with a multitude of opportunities to explore their musical interests, develop their skills, and discover their unique voice. Whether it is through singing, playing instruments, or composing music, pupils at Richmond House School are encouraged to express themselves creatively and confidently. In addition to weekly class music lessons, all pupils attend weekly year group singing assemblies. They also participate in a variety of concerts and performances throughout the year, which are a highlight of the school calendar and create memories that they, and their parents, will cherish forever.

Comprehensive support for young musicians

With our Music Scholarship, your child will receive individual instrumental music lessons delivered by our highly experienced, dedicated, and inspiring team of Visiting Music Teachers, paid for by the school. Additionally, all supported examination fees associated with their musical studies will be covered, ensuring that they can pursue their musical aspirations. These costs will be covered for the duration of their time in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.  Our aim is to provide aspiring young musicians with the support and resources they need to excel in their musical journey and reach their full potential.

Evaluation of the music scholarship

The Music Scholarship will be evaluated by our Director of Music and Performing Arts, Mrs Janine MacGregor. The assessment will focus solely on natural talent rather than musical knowledge and will be conducted in an informal, enjoyable session.

Exclusive opportunity for new entrants

This opportunity is exclusively available for new entrants to Richmond House School. Whether your child is just beginning their musical journey or has already shown a passion for music, our Music Scholarship offers them the chance to thrive in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Music Scholarship Assessment

We invite families to schedule appointments for their child to participate in a music session with our Director of Music and Performing Arts, Mrs Janine MacGregor. During the session, children will learn some songs and have the opportunity to play various instruments. Families will also have the chance to tour our school during this time.
