“If we can all be a better friend from time to time, I think we’ll have a better place to live in.” – Kevin Sinfield
Just a short walk from Richmond House, this inspiring quote by the incredible Kevin Sinfield is beautifully captured in a piece of street art by Burley Banksy. It’s a reminder to us all about the power of kindness and being there for one another.
Kevin Sinfield has once again left us in awe, completing his extraordinary challenge of running seven ultra-marathons in seven cities over seven days. This monumental effort has raised vital funds for the MND Association and Leeds Hospitals Charity.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is Kevin’s resilience. Despite a muscle tear just 10 days before the challenge, he pushed through pain and difficult weather conditions, refusing to give up. He dedicated this effort to his late teammate, Rob Burrow, who passed away in June following his battle with Motor Neurone Disease. Kevin’s perseverance, selflessness, and commitment to supporting others are truly inspiring.
Headteacher, Sharon Young said: “At Richmond House, I am encouraged by the kindness our pupils show one and other, and their eagerness to help those in need, be that in school or outside of it. Seeing a local hero like Kevin Sinfield go above and beyond for his friend and the MND community serves as a powerful example for us all. Let’s strive to be the kind of friends who go the extra mile and make a real difference for others.”
