Headteacher Mrs Young recently showcased her exceptional equestrian skills competing alongside her team from Harewood Riding Club in the Riding Club National Championships for horse trials.

Known for its high level of difficulty and competition, the event posed a formidable challenge to all participants. Despite this, Mrs Young, supported by her wonderful teammates, achieved her best-ever score in dressage and delivered an equally impressive performance in show jumping with a flawless double-clear round. The cross-country segment of the competition proved particularly demanding, but Mrs Young rose to the occasion.

Reflecting on the experience, she shared, “The event was at the point where exhilarating meets terrifying, but I found myself just on the exhilarating side of it. It’s a pinch-yourself moment when I consider how far I’ve come.”

Mrs Young emphasised the personal growth she’s experienced through her equestrian pursuits: “I have been working towards bettering myself and not comparing myself to others. I’m following a passion of mine, working towards goals, and aiming to achieve while having fun. This is exactly what we ask our pupils at Richmond House to do.”
