Over the last three weekends, Year 5 pupil Willow competed at the Yorkshire Swimming Championships in the long course pools at Ponds Forge in Sheffield and John Charles Aquatics Centre in Leeds.
We are delighted to report that Willow emerged as the Yorkshire Champion in 50m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle, and 400m Freestyle events in the 11-year-old age category.
Out of the 15 events Willow participated in, she secured an impressive 3 gold medals, 1 silver, 2 bronze, and achieved top 10 finalist positions in 7 more events, setting personal bests in each.
Reflecting on her achievements, Willow shared: “It was really exciting to race in the same championships as Richmond House alumni including national swimmer Holly Harrison and Olympic hopeful Leah Schlosshan. My next major competition is the North Eastern Regionals which will take place in April so I will have to keep working hard!”
